NOAA Student Internship Program

Provide robust research and/or operational experience that will prepare the student for further study in NOAA fields, for application to fellowships or for the NOAA-mission workforce. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate (sophomore and junior status only) or graduate degree program, and be a U.S. Citizen willing to undergo a security background check.

Woods Hole Diversity Advisory Committee

Woods Hole Partnership Education Program

Spend a summer gaining practical experience in marine and environmental science. The program consists of a four-week course and a ten-week research project Ð all in the sea-side village of Woods Hole. The Partnership Education Program is designed for college students, with priority given to rising juniors and seniors, majoring in the natural sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, or geosciences and earth system sciences), engineering, mathematics or social sciences, who have had some course work in oceanography, biology, or marine and/or environmental science.

Explorer-in-Training Program

The Explorer-in-Training Program interns gain valuable, interdisciplinary experience in ocean exploration while collaborating on OER projects and expeditions. Open to currently enrolled students (undergraduate or graduate) or students who have already graduated, but whose graduation date is within a year of the application date (i.e., gap-year students); students must be enrolled in or have received a degree from an accredited academic institution in the US. Degree, major, or intent to major in STEM fields, social sciences, communications, education, business operations/administration, and ocean policy/management.
